JOB PURPOSE
Under general supervision, provides a broad range of clerical and administrative duties for one or more attorney(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supports the attorney(s) administratively with calendar management, expense reports, travel arrangements and itineraries, monthly summaries and staff meeting agendas and minutes. Also provides administrative support to the Legal department.

2. Researches complex issues often requiring research with other departments to relieve attorney of administrative duties. Performs duties specific to the function of the Legal department.

3. Initiates correspondence of a non-routine, complex nature often requiring extensive research and knowledge of Company operations.

4. Schedules meetings without prior approval of attorney. Independently gathers, researches, and compiles information for meetings and ensures attorney is well briefed prior to meeting. 1

5. Answers, screens, and prioritizes phone calls. Takes messages as appropriate and offers solutions to sometimes complex inquiries, requiring extensive research and follow up.

6. Compiles comparative and statistical information and prepares summaries of findings using spreadsheet software. In addition, prepares related charts and graphs using graphics software package. Independently follows up on report discrepancies and ensures appropriate records are corrected.

7. Prepares the annual departmental operating plan proposal and summary for final review by attorney. Independently compiles historical information regarding departmental expenses, estimates year-end actual versus plan, and works with executive's direct reports to determine cost of projects and expenses for the next year. Also participates in the development of budget reports and analysis for quarterly financial reviews.

8. Maintains highly confidential/sensitive information regarding division and overall Company business and exercises utmost discretion with information.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education: High school diploma plus some college or equivalent applicable experience.

Experience: 4 years of progressive administrative/legal experience (3 years must be experience within the legal field).

1. Requires knowledge of document formats of a legal nature such as contracts, briefs, summonses, complaints, and motions.

2. Must understand technical legal terminology.

3. Must have excellent grammar, writing, and proofing skills.

4. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.

5. Excellent PC skills.

6. Requires knowledge of word processing software and other organization software programs.

7. Advanced WP skills (manipulates link and embedded functions, macros).

8. Intermediate spreadsheet skills (link and embedded data).

9. May prepare routine database reports.

10. Advanced graphics skills (edit clip art, link or embedded objects).

11. Must be able to prepare presentations.

12. Coordinates appointments without approval.

13. Excellent communication skills required to interact with various departments, all levels of management, and external contacts, including outside counsel.

14. Anticipation skills required.

15. Must be able to handle extremely sensitive and/or confidential information.
