Manage Asia Pacific Region product portfolio from global product portfolio and Asia Pacific region exclusive products for Color, Body, Fragrance, Sun care.

Manage AP Region Product launch calendar planning identifying gaps and opportunities and negotiating product needs with corporate brand partners.

Active participation in the development and implementation of the Corp brand development plans by independently gathering information and providing key review at various points in the planning process, develops analyses of pricing, cost and competitor information, develops options for products and packaging, and ensure the accurate, consistent communication of information to manager and key partners.

Represents the region’s views at meetings and development process of assigned categories by ensuring products are aligned with regional product strategy and timing. Acts as a resource to communicate AP regional product details and needs to corporate partners (AP markets, Brand Development, Program Management, Global Inventory Control, and Finance, R&D, PMO etc.).

Maintains constant awareness of the status of key initiatives, programs, launch results, and business metric trends in the region, and shares information with management as appropriate. Isolates key challenges and opportunities and makes recommendations through in-market visits, discussions with local markets, and review of business metrics

Manages the category health and SKU performance through the entire product life cycle to optimize sales, reach, repurchase and margins.

  • Works with Global Product Management team and other relevant corporate partners to represent Asia Pacific market needs in the product development plan in Color, Body, Fragrance, Sun care etc.Collaborates with corporate teams to help lead resolution efforts of any project challenges to keep the project moving toward launch date. Manages the overall product health and lifecycle management of assigned product categories to ensure ensures relevant competitive price positioning for brand positioning, opportunities for launch/ and repromotions. Analyzes sales performance and recommends necessary next steps to ensure health of product – pricing, phase outs, margins. Ensures product pricing and assortments are in accordance with established regional objectives & strategies and alignment to global and regional product strategy
  • With guidance from Director of Product Marketing, partners with Global Product and local markets to prepare the components of Asia Pacific business case/ pick up request. Work with markets to ensure product relevance, timings and cost and pricing. With the assistance of Regional Finance teams, provides financial information including cost of goods, cannibalization, margin, pricing, and projected forecast for business cases and each gate within new product development process. Assumes ownership of specific Agile tasks representing regional soft and firm commits. Work with market to provide post launch analysis and future product launch recommendation.
  • Develop quarterly product & promotional plans for assigned categories. Manages product launch calendars to ensure that product, sales date, and promotional-related activities established by the Region Team and local marketing teams are executed as planned. Advises each market in the development of their product launch and promotional plans to achieve regional goals. Conducts competitive analysis for products and research to report on market trends and industry best practices.

  • Work with Global & Regional marketing team to provide product communication input for product launch assets to ensure region needs are represented. It may include but not limited to product communication concept, creative execution, list of deliverables, IBC and consumer focused assets, ideas and thought starters for product launch activation.
  • This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Experience:  5+ years

Field of Experience:  Minimum 4-6 years on-hand experience with over 2-3 years of cosmetics/ personal care experience in consumer product marketing development / management, participating in the development of global product marketing management plans.

Education:  Bachelor/University Degree

Education Focus:  Bachelor’s degree in brand management, marketing, business administration or related field

  • Relevant international experience coupled with Asia Pacific experience is preferred.
  • Proven track record of product and brand management required to lead the tactical aspects of the product marketing cycle from product plan through product commercialization and end-market launch. Must demonstrate a high level of problem solving, planning and negotiating skill.
  • Passion for beauty industry and following involving trends and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills required to establish credibility and form business partnerships with clients locally and globally, to provide clear product/brand positioning, and to exchange information with individuals at various levels of the organization. Must be strong, assertive personality balanced with a respect for others.
  • Requires a strong balance of strategic thinker as well as broad thinking ability with an acute attention to detail and the ability to execute flawlessly.
  • Must have the ability to perform duties under general direction and independently perform assignments with only general criteria for expected results and possess a high level of time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Travel required up to 15% of time to visit Asia Pacific region for the regional meeting and market study, attend special events to include; beauty and marketing trend seminars.
  • Strong verbal and written skills needed both local in-market (Mandarin preferred) language and excellent in English language.
