KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
Experience 1 to 2 years
1. Must understand general principles of production, quality assurance, scale-up, and product safety. Requires a basic knowledge and experience in process engineering, scale-up design and validation, technology transfer to production, equipment capabilities and translations, as well as experimental design and evaluation of data.
2. Must be keenly aware that there are hazards in both the laboratory and production environments. Must be responsible for working safely, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
3. Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
4. Must understand the impact of scale-up decisions on the eventual processing and production of products.
5. Must have basic project management skills.
6. Must work long and/or irregular hours to support pilot/qualification batches and troubleshooting of bulk production issues.
