KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES     

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in fine arts, graphic design, advertising, broadcast video or digital design, plus

Experience: 10+ of progressively responsible experience in creative/art direction, which will include strong fashion\beauty creative industry expertise, solid knowledge of omni-channel experiences, experience in developing packaging, and the ability to create visual storytelling across all channels including 5 years of supervisory.

  1. Strong leadership and team building abilities required to provide guidance and mentoring to direct reports and work with departments throughout the organization.
  2. Experience working on, and providing creative direction on video.
  3. Incumbent must possess a significant experience and industry knowledge of fashion\beauty photo art direction, design, branding, video, social media, and dynamic capabilities of design execution through the use of technology. Strong knowledge of print and packaging layout, graphic design, mechanical art, printing production and budgeting procedures.
  4. Must have well developed layout and graphic design skills, preferable with an editorial background
  5. Must possess best-in-class ‘hands-on’ photo art direction and design experience in order to periodically produce high profile projects themselves. Strong connections in the beauty\fashion community. [i.e.- photographers, stylists, makeup artists, set designers, model agencies and producers
  6. Must possess a personal passion for branding and a strong sense of style.
  7. Must be knowledgeable on Digital Creative and stay abreast of trends related to technology and digital space.
  8. Advanced level experience with all required creative suite software.
  9. Must have a portfolio that exhibits an exceptional range of work, covers a variety of media and styles, such as motion graphics, video production, print and web design.
  10. Must possess a thorough understanding of Global Marketing and Company marketing objectives in order to review and approve projects.
  11. Excellent presentation skills are required in order to interact with marketing personnel in the development of marketing communication strategies and materials. Must have strong written communication skills to guide internal and freelance staff, and to interface and negotiate with individuals across the Company and externally, including vendors and contractors.
  12. Ability to coach, facilitate and empower team members; motivate, train and supervise staff/contractors; select, evaluate and provide art direction to vendors; interface with executives/individuals to develop/execute communications pieces.
  13. Must be organized, proactive and good with details in order to prioritize and carry out multiple assignments without direct supervision. Must also be able to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
  14. Must maintain awareness of the latest web/internet technologies and practices through attending seminars, technical classes, reading Web specific publications and by frequently studying competitive sites in the marketplace.
  15. Must have advanced knowledge in all CS Creative Suite software applications:  Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge and Light room. Working knowledge of video production, ability to build storyboard and video concept boards. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  16. Requires basic troubleshooting skills for computer software/hardware problems that may occur, including applications, printers, networking, etc.
  17. Domestic / International overnight travel required approximately 15% of work time.
