Job Description:

Provides senior level functional support and serves as a subject matter expert for complex Oracle HCM application modules with a specialized focus on Payroll and Time and Labor.

Serves as project lead for projects/enhancements, periodic releases, and business events in assigned areas:

  • Projects/Enhancements
    • Lead projects/enhancements, define project timelines with milestones, gather and document business requirements, research system functionality, conduct fit/gap, demonstrate solution, configure the system, conduct UAT, update the configuration and solution guide.
    • Make recommendations for optimal design/configuration balancing requirements against delivered system functionality, mitigating any roadblocks by solutioning alternatives and/or influencing stakeholder.
  • Periodic Releases
    • Review legislative updates, tax updates and release notes conduct impact analysis, regression testing to minimize business impact. Research, work with Oracle Support and / or use other resources to find solution options to mitigate any impacts
    • Evaluate enhancements delivered, identify opportunities to enhance business process and/or user experience to maximize the use of application.
  • Business Processes
    • Primary functional lead supporting the weekly, semi-monthly payroll processes, quarterly and year end processes, including other ad hoc business events that impact payroll.

Provide functional support:

  • Provides tier 2 support for Oracle HCM. Research, conduct impact analysis across modules to trouble shoot issue to define solution options. Collaborate with HCM team members, business process owners, IST, consultants and/or Oracle support to resolve issue.
  • Escalates issues to the Manager – HR Technology or IST support to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Research and troubleshoot issues related to employee time calculations payroll processing.
  • Liaise with payroll to trouble shoot any earning, deduction, tax issues to include retroactive deduction processing
  • Update and maintain configuration related to Time & Labor and Payroll.

Provide Support for Reports and Interface related to assigned modules:

  • Collaborates with payroll on pay period/quarterly/annual data audits to research/analyze and explain differences.
  • Research report/interface data discrepancies and other issues and communicates to all impacted parties.
  • Gathers and documents requirements for new or enhancements to interfaces/reports.
  • Coordinate with developers and other technical professionals to create reports and interface programs.
  • Conduct end to end testing of interfaces/reports.
  • Coordinates with Payroll, IST and vendor to establish and maintain the interface file transmissions to the vendors.

Maintains Knowledge base, functional skills and stays current on Oracle HCM Technology:

  • Active on the Oracle user groups to stay current on the product roadmaps and enhancement requests.
  • Researches, configures and conducts conference room pilots to evaluate new functionality in any area as assigned by the Manager.
  • Collaborates with HCM Technology team members to deliver end to end streamlined efficient business processes to meet business requirements.

This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Experience: 5+ years

Field of Experience: Oracle HCM HR analyst support experience plus 2+ years of experience related to supporting Payroll and Time & Labor.

Education: Bachelor/University Degree

Education Focus: Information systems, computer science or equivalent required, and functional training to include Oracle Payroll and Time & Labor strongly preferred.

  • Intermediate level knowledge using Oracle HCM tools (Design Studio, Application Composer, Page Composer, Workflow – Approval Rules/Notifications)
  • Intermediate knowledge level using Oracle OTBI and some knowledge of BIPublisher, XML and SQL
  • Knowledge of Oracle HCM security design including AOR and custom criteria.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply Oracle White Papers and supplement the gaps
  • Must be resourceful in obtaining knowledge and identifying solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to handle medium size projects and constantly reprioritize based on business needs
  • Collaborative and organized teammate, who builds positive meaningful relationships and trust
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues/solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner
  • Experience testing HCM application instances to successfully validate application setups, including input to test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts
  • Strong HCM Business process experience
  • Detailed, process-oriented individual, with project management skills, who has the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
  • Knowledge and experience with Oracle SR process, refresh, and release management.
