Education: Bachelor’s degree, law degree (J.D.), and currently licensed in the state of Texas or another state in the U.S. and eligible and willing to become licensed by the Texas state bar.
Experience: 3–5 years of legal experience to possess a thorough knowledge of corporate policies, goals and objectives as they relate to the legal environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Must demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills in order to independently provide advice and counsel to key stakeholders on routine to moderately complex legal issues impacting the business.
2. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, tact, diplomacy, and a high level of professionalism to interface with independent sales force, internal employees including all levels of management, industry association representatives, outside counsel, and government officials as necessary.
3. Must demonstrate sound decision-making skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle tense situations.
4. Must have negotiation skills.
5. Must demonstrate excellent presentation and public speaking skills, including the ability to create and deliver core content to intended audiences on a variety of issues impacting the business.
6. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate routine to complex legal or business principles in a manner that can be readily understood by intended audience (orally or in writing).
7. Excellent oral communication skills are required to effectively interact with both internal and external contacts.
8. Strong written communication skills are required to communicate effectively via physical paper documents, email or other electronic means, with both internal and external customers.
9. The ability to multi-task and a keen sense of urgency and timeliness is required.
10. Must demonstrate a positive, “can-do” attitude.
11. Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate and work well with teams.
12. Must be able to use standard office equipment and applications such as Microsoft Office.
13. Spanish language skills required.
