KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES     

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Sustainability related field or equivalent plus. Graduate degree preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in key areas of focus: corporate sustainability, social impact programs, ESG, Corporate Foundations or consulting required. 

  • Corporate sustainability experience required, with governance, reporting, and communications experience. Broad knowledge of requirements of United Nations global mandates, community relations/charitable contributions principles and practices is desirable.
  • Proven track record in managing strategic communications and social impact programs that improve the value and reputation of the company, capacity to deliver against demanding deadlines.
  • Passionate team player with a strategic and executional mindset. Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels to deliver high-value communication results.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills and a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects to budget and deadlines.  Self-starter, capable of working independently.
  • Collaborative style, tact, diplomacy and ability to develop strong partnerships with others in a highly complex environment.
  • Trusted communications advisor and implementor for senior-level executives and strategic partners. Ability to engage effectively with Mary Kay’s C-Suite leaders and high level external strategic partners.
  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a very positive attitude and a passion for community affairs and CSR.
  • Must have strong presentation skills, as well as poise under high-pressure crisis situations.
  • Strong business writing skills (business and AP style), plus proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Ability to perform research is also important. 
  • Domestic and international travel up to 25%-35% of the time required.
