KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES    

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing or related field, plus

Experience

10 or more years of experience managing and implementing marketing programs. MBA is preferred. Prior brand management experience with a consumer package goods company or direct selling industry is highly desired.

  1. Must have proven leadership skills and experience leading a team.
  2. Proven strategic experience developing brand, product and consumer marketing strategies. Must have a strong understanding of marketing concepts and marketing trends.
  3. Strong initiative developing and executing promotions and supporting materials. Understanding of direct advertising practices including, print and broadcast media, creative and print production and online marketing. Prior collateral/advertising material production experience required.
  4. Prior experience developing marketing strategies and/or tactics marketing to the Hispanic target audience is preferred.
  5. Proven experience creating and executing online marketing strategies. Must be creative and solution-focused individual who can champion fresh ideas for Mary Kay.
  6. Must demonstrate an understanding of internet concepts, terminology and online marketing techniques and stay abreast of online marketing trends to assess online marketing strategies.
  7. Must display strategic thinking, creativity, analytic ability and strong execution skills.
  8. Incumbent must demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial aptitude and be solution-focused. A strong sense of urgency and ability to manage numerous projects at one time are required.
  9. Must have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with top management, sales force and internal departments. Must be able to present in front of large audiences and senior executives.
  10. Strong business and analytical skills are required to assist in analyzing and interpreting results of research, for marketing promotions. Must be able to understand financial data in order to make insightful observations. Must be able to tie marketing objectives to overall performance metrics and/or ROI. Ability to define opportunities and problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts and make valid conclusions is required.
  11. Must be a Brand Ambassador for the Mary Kay Brand and ensure all tactics adhere to branding guidelines. A strong passion for cosmetics and the beauty industry is a plus.
  12. Out-of-town travel is required approximately 10% of work time to attend special events and seminars, to visit and interview sales force members, to support educational and training activities and may include special recognition trips with the sales force.
