KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Supply Chain. Requires Hazardous Materials Certification for all modes of shipping. D.O.T, IATA & IMDG.
Experience: 3 years of experience with International shipping of dangerous goods. Pack, prepare and processing of all required documentation. Computer skills with Microsoft Office and Excel. Highly organized, structured and attentive to details.
1. Must have experience with leading and coordinating work groups in order to direct work of warehouse crew.
2. Demonstrated relational team building, communication and multitasking skills.
3. Must be certified and be knowledgeable in hazardous material packing requirements for sea, land and air by a qualified company or government agency. Must be able to complete, pass and maintain all required training to maintain certifications to properly comply with government regulations. Must ensure accuracy of shipping documents. Must have knowledge of transportation modes for international.
4. Must continuously demonstrate ability to safely drive forklift equipment and be able to maintain forklift certification requirements.
5. Must have the ability to frequently stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, and reach in order to check pallets, pick cases and work around product. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in order to move cases. Must be able to utilize metric system for weights and measurements.
6. Must be able to work independently with minimal direct leadership or supervision and drive progress autonomously.
7. Must be able to use a personal computer to generate product paperwork, labels or reports, and to effectively communicate to others via e-email, and to update and maintain records. Must be able to interact with RF type devices to enable system data gathering.
8. Effective interpersonal skills are required in order to convey written and oral information. Must be able to work well with others within the department and Company.
9. Must have the ability to negotiate with vendors to ensure the most cost-effective and timely arrangements for shipments. Lead and coordinate multiple projects. Engage in problem solving, ensure continuous improvement. Ability to accept changes, engage in communication with your team.
10. Must available to work overtime.
