Legal Counsel
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree and law degrees (LL.M or J.D.) and admission to the State Bar of Texas or the ability to become admitted upon application, and willingness to apply for admission, to the State Bar of Texas and admission to practice.
Experience: 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably with experience in legal compliance, data privacy and/or employee benefits work.

1. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, tact, diplomacy and a high level of professionalism to interface with outside and opposing counsel, all levels of management, independent sales force and government officials. Job requires demonstrated customer focus and the ability to build relationships, trust and respect with business clients, as well as the ability to proactively identify and manage significant legal issues. |

2. Must possess sound decision-making skills as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills and the ability to handle tense situations head-on. |

3. Must have negotiation skills to set up legal transactions/settlements and ensure the Company’s interests are represented. |

4. Excellent oral communication skills are required to effectively interact with both internal and external contacts, coordinate legal activities and formulate contracts and policy recommendations. |
|
5. Demonstrated leadership business acumen and excellent communication and drafting skills are required, as well as diplomacy and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional client teams. Strong written communication skills required to draft documents, make recommendations and communicate with both internal and external customers. |

6. Must have the desire to learn, ability to be flexible and to work as a team. |

7. The ability to multi-task and a sense of urgency and timeliness is required. |
