Job Summary
This role is responsible for leading a team and managing complex projects within the Color category, with accountability for both people leadership and product portfolio performance. It oversees the product lifecycle from strategy through execution, including portfolio composition, pricing, profitability, positioning, and lifecycle decisions.
In partnership with the Sr. Manager, Global Product Management, this role collaborates with key stakeholders and business leaders on strategic decisions that drive the commercial success and operational efficiency of the Color portfolio. Strong business judgment, financial acumen, and the ability to navigate complex, highly matrixed environments are critical, along with the ability to lead a high-performing team.
About the Role
Color Category & Portfolio Leadership
Responsible for executing Mary Kay Global Product Strategy for the Color category, with accountability for sales, profit, and overall category performance.
Provides oversight of all projects within the assigned category to deliver against financial goals, KPIs, and portfolio objectives.
Partners with leadership to define financial growth goals, metrics, and targets, and works cross‑functionally to deliver competitive, high‑performing products for Independent Beauty Consultants.
Owns key portfolio decisions, including:
Product role within the portfolio
Pricing and profitability
SKU and shade strategy
Positioning and promotion recommendations
Product phase-out recommendations
Identifies opportunities to drive financial growth through effective Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) management across both core and promotional items.
Partners closely with Program Management, Finance, Contract Services, and Package Quality and Engineering to ensure cost targets are met, while balancing cost, value, and revenue impact.
Provides recommendations for the 3–5 year product portfolio growth plan, including launch calendars and resource prioritization.
Translates consumer, category, and performance insights into a value‑based global product roadmap.
Partners with Supply Chain and Operations to support long‑term objectives and identifies risks or barriers within the roadmap planning process.
Leads highly complex and/or highly visible projects that are critical to the business.
People Leadership & Team Oversight
Directly manages a team of Product Specialists and is accountable for their performance, development, and delivery of business results.
Ensures the team executes commercial and product innovation strategies consistent with category goals.
Ensures the team deeply understands the Color category, consumer trends, and competitive landscape.
Provides direction and oversight across new product development activities, including:
Formula and claims direction
Consumer insights and testing
Naming and positioning
Packaging and artwork direction
Forecasting and promotional recommendations
Acts as the business expert for the Color category, guiding pricing decisions, portfolio mix, and product performance optimization.
Ensures strong collaboration and communication across all cross‑functional partners.
Identifies roadblocks and proactively removes barriers, escalating business issues as needed.
Manages performance through clear expectations, goal setting, coaching, and ongoing feedback.
Leads change and supports the team through evolving business priorities.
Ensures accurate and consistent use of Agile and other systems to reflect team activities and progress.
This job requires on-site work at Mary Kay facilities (Addison and Lewisville).
Skills & Experience
Experience: 5+ years, 2+ years of leading a team
Education: Bachelor/University Degree in business/marketing/strategy/technical field or related field. A master's degree is preferred.

Highly organized and capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and common project collaboration tools; Oracle Agile experience a plus.
Passion for Color Cosmetics as a consumer.
Proactive mindset with a holistic, ownership‑oriented approach to decision‑making.
