Manager Product Safety

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:    

Education:  

Ph.D. in a relevant field of biology, preferably toxicology or pharmacology or equivalent.

Experience:

5+ years of progressively responsible work experience in a biological testing function and/or a claims substantiation group with management experience.

1. Requires excellent human relations, communication, and organizational skills and demonstrated managerial and technical skills to successfully fulfill departmental mission and effectively interface with internal departments and external contacts.

2. Must possess a familiarity with the functional materials used in cosmetic products in an assigned category, including suppliers, trade names, and INCI nomenclature, and a familiarity with the functional materials available from the principal suppliers to both the personal care industry and to other allied non-personal care products such as pharmaceuticals, household products, laundry products, etc. 

3. Must possess an in-depth knowledge of regulations that relate to safety testing.

4. Must have the ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.

5. Must be able to provide solutions to a wide range of difficult and complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

6. Ability to perform duties under very general direction and independently perform assignments with only general criteria for expected results.
