Job Summary:

Performs complex electromechanical problem diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance of forklifts and conventional and automated material handling equipment at the ASRS building.

About the Role:

        Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems of forklifts, computer automated, and material handling equipment. Repairs, replaces, refurbishes, overhauls, or makes major adjustments to ensure the safe and proper operations of all material handling equipment. Installs and tests new equipment to ensure proper operation according to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications.

        Performs routine and preventative maintenance tasks on automated equipment such as the storage/retrieval vehicles (SRVs) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), forklifts, pallet jacks, battery chargers, pallet inverters, powered conveyors, and automated stretch wrappers.

        Troubleshoots electronic circuitry and PC board failures and malfunctions on the SRV and AGV automated equipment, forklifts, battery chargers. Analyzes diagnostic and error codes in order to perform expedient repairs.

        Plans, schedules, and logs services with outside contract vendors for the repairs of the forklift fleet and other material handling equipment on the more complex factory level anomalies.

        Analyzes and determines inventory levels for spare and critical parts for the maintenance of forklifts, battery chargers and changers, batteries, pallet inverters, and other plant equipment. Determines routine and critical spare parts inventory and arranges for payment and deliveries. Prepares and maintains logs, checklists, and other maintenance records as required. Inputs parts costing in electronic databases and accounting systems such as SAP Ariba and Concur.

        Assists with classroom and the hands-on training of lower level mechanics and other personnel with electro-mechanical maintenance and repair skills, and safety performance. Performs best practices on forklifts, SRVs, AGVs, conveyors, pallet inverters, wrappers, high bay floors and racking, shelving/cabinets, fixtures, P&D stands, and all shop areas.

        This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.

Full-time employment

Work Hours - 8 hrs/day - Monday-Friday (40 hrs/week)

Work schedule - 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Paid Time off -  4.667/hrs a month accrual

Skills & Experience:

Education:  Trade School

Experience:  5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance and shop practices , maintaining electrical material handling equipment , forklift repair

Additional Skills & Abilities:

        Must demonstrate technical knowledge of high pressure hydraulic systems and control valves, solid state electrical systems, high current power system, and various AC & DC motor controllers.

        Must demonstrate competencies with power and hand tools, multi-meters, dial calipers, micrometers, and other test equipment to perform essential job duties.

        Must be able to successfully and safety operate overhead hoists, slings, chain and pulley rigging, and proper hooks and links technology.

        Must have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to follow instructions and effectively interface with departmental staff and other Company Departments.

        Must be able to manually lift materials and parts weighing up to 60 pounds.

        Ability to walk 70% of the time to coordinate manpower and equipment requirements. Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, and sit 30% of the time to perform related maintenance work.

        Must have good color vision and perception in order to verify color-coded wires, control symbols, and operate machinery.

        Must be able to work at high elevations and climb storage racks or equipment ladders as needed.

        Must have advanced skills with oxy-acetylene torches, MIG, and metal rod arc welding for minor and moderate repairs.

        Must be able to do basic computer interfacing, keyboard input, e-mail accounts, computer-based database research and maintenance, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word applications. Must be able to interface with accounting systems such as SAP Ariba and Concur.
