Paralegal - Intellectual Property

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college/university. Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution beneficial.  

Experience: Prefer 3-5 years of Paralegal experience, including at least 2 years of solid IP experience, preferably with trademarks, in a legal office or a corporate legal department.

1. Requires a familiarity with IP terminology and processes.

2. Requires strong legal research and analytical skills.  
3. Must have excellent human relations and communication skills, tact, diplomacy and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in order to interface with outside and opposing counsel, all levels of management, the independent sales force, and government officials.
4. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with both internal and external contacts.
5. Must have ability to work in a timely manner by exercising discretion and utilizing independent judgment to meet business needs and demands.
6. Strong organizational skills and project management skills required.
7. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

8. Familiarity with case/matter management systems or programs preferred.
