Scientist Quality Control Analytical

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:   

Education:    A bachelor’s degree in chemistry

Experience:  3 years of experience in a laboratory environment. Prior work experience in a quality control laboratory is preferred.

2. Must be certified by American Society for Quality – Certified Quality Technician or Certified Quality Engineer preferred.

3. Must possess good human relations, oral and written communication skills in order to make and present recommendations and information.  Must be able to effectively interact with non-scientific personnel from a scientific/analytical chemistry perspective.

4. Must have a good understanding of Microbiology, Chemistry, and modern laboratory instrumentation to make sound decisions based on the technical information available.

5. Must have a thorough understanding of FDA regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices.

6. Must have an understanding of the relationship between the values and goals of the organization to the quality control function.

7. Must have “average discrimination” based on the Farnsworth-Munsell Hue Test in order to visually distinguish colors; must also be able to distinguish fragrances.

8. Must possess the manual dexterity required to perform tests on materials and manipulate instruments.
