We manufacture skincare and cosmetics in a high-volume environment with a focus on uncompromising quality, maximum operational efficiency, and responsiveness to changes in customer needs and consumer desires.  Our highly accomplished team includes engineers, mechanics, operational leads, buyers, inspectors and other manufacturing disciplines.

Job Summary:

Sr Maintenance Mechanic - Processing is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the processing, central weigh, sanitation, tank farm, purified water, and waste water equipment at Mary Kay. This role performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs on processing tanks, storage tanks, pumps, valves, piping, instruments, etc. This role ensures that all work is documented accurately and thoroughly, following good documentation practices (GDP). This role is accountable for helping to achieve strategies and goals of becoming the world-class, low-cost, high-quality producer of choice. This role is expected to communicate with reliability and operations teams to minimize the impact on the production schedule. Document all work, adjustments, and parts replacements in a computerized maintenance management system. This role is expected to train and develop other maintenance mechanics. This role is expected to identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Lead root cause analysis (RCA). Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services. Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and maintenance schedules. Other duties as assigned.

About the Role:

•  Preventative Maintenance

  Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment according to established schedules.

  Inspect, test, and service equipment to detect malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.

  Resolve any issues discovered in the preventative maintenance to minimize operational downtime

  Continuously improve preventative maintenance schedules and task lists

•  Troubleshooting & Repair

  Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.

  Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to restore equipment functionality.

  Utilize various tools and equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently.

  Read manuals and other documentation to accurately troubleshoot and repair complex issues.

  Handle complex and critical maintenance tasks, including diagnosing and resolving advanced mechanical problems.

•  Equipment Installation & Upgrades

  Assist in the installation, assembly, and disassembly of machinery and equipment.

  Perform equipment upgrades and modifications to enhance production efficiency and safety.

  Assist engineering department in the installation, setup, and testing of new production equipment.

  Assist with validation and qualification of production equipment.

•  Advanced Responsibilities

  Train, develop, and guidance for other maintenance mechanics

  Lead improvement projects and initiatives within and across departments.

  Take a strategic role is documentation of equipment performance and operability, review trends, analyze data to make improvements.

•  This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.

  • Shift: First
  • Work Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm
  • Regular Workdays: 5 - Tues-Sat

Skills & Experience:

Education:  High School Diploma or Equivalent - Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred

Experience:  5+ years in a manufacturing environment

Additional Skills & Abilities:

    Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

    Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, P&ID's, blueprints, and schematics.

    Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and basic programming is a plus.

    Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Excellent communication skills within and between different teams.

    Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

    Basic computer skills in using the Internet, word, excel, and Outlook.

    Must be able to frequently stand, walk, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach, and move equipment and machinery weighing up to 60 lbs. in order to repair, monitor, and maintain processing equipment.

    Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and crouching.

    Manual dexterity is required for the use of tools and measuring instruments.

    Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, noise).

    Certification in sanitary welding is a plus.
