Sr Scientist Quality Control Analytical
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education: Job requires bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a scientific field.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in an analytical chemistry environment. Prior work experience in a quality control laboratory is preferred.
1. Certification by the American Society for Quality as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) OR Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred.
2. Must possess excellent human relations and oral and written communication skills in order to make and present recommendations and information and effectively interact with non-scientific personnel from a scientific/analytical chemistry perspective.
3. Must have a good understanding of Chemistry, Microbiology and modern laboratory instrumentation to make sound decisions based on the technical information available.
4. Must have a thorough understanding of FDA regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
5. Must have an understanding of the relationship between the values and goals of the organization to the quality control function.
6. Must have “average discrimination” based on the Farnsworth-Munsell Hue Test in order to visually distinguish colors; must also be able to distinguish fragrances.
7. Must possess the manual dexterity required to perform tests on materials and manipulate instruments.
