About the Role
Oversees a broad range of high impact global programs designed to support the development of talent and to improve the overall productivity of the organization. This role is responsible for contributing to the strategy, design, development, implementation and management of global talent and OD programs including 360 leadership assessment, talent planning, development planning, high potential development, performance management, competencies, mentoring, internal internships, cross-border exchanges, operational workforce planning, etc. This role serves as the subject matter expert for these programs. This position reports directly to the Director, Organization Effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, implements, facilitates, and/or sources reputable vendors for talent and OD programs which are strategically linked to and support long-term business needs and company values; ensures programs and/or solutions achieve the desired goals of the organization. Responsibilities for leading key programs include: performance management, competencies, talent planning, 360 and high potential assessments, high potential programs, workforce planning, internal/external mentoring, internal internships and cross-border exchanges.
Serves as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for the talent and OD programs within his/her area of responsibility; Serves as the subject matter expert on global talent and OD programs and contributes to the strategy; manages global complexities such as balancing the interests of regions, and markets; solicits feedback from key stakeholders to ensure programs evolve to meet long-term (3-5 years) business needs.
Partners with global HR technology team to deliver a positive end user experience that aligns with our talent and OD programs. Serves as subject matter expert for modules and administration including goals, performance, 9box, succession plans, employee profile and development goals. Participates in system testing, creates materials to support end users and HR Business Partners, determines dashboard requirements, and trains HRBPs and end users on the system.
Works closely with the Human Resource Business Partners to support and sustain talent and OD programs; develops communication, education and tools to support programs effectively; builds strategies for growing the capabilities of HRBPs to promote the value, benefits and best way to leverage global and US/Corporate based programs.
Drives the targeted development of key leaders by using appropriate assessments (such as 360, high potential, etc.); Has primary responsibility for researching and recommending best in class assessment instruments and oversees program administration from start to finish; Ensures the confidentiality of the process.
Proactively uses internal program and HR data (employee survey, performance, HR metrics, focus groups, etc.) and conducts appropriate analysis to anticipate and communicate current and emerging global, organizational needs. Identifies patterns/ trends and makes recommendations as appropriate based on analysis; Identifies opportunities for improving programs through data analytics, diagnosis and applying OD conceptual frameworks, technologies and methods based on a solid theoretical and practical foundation; Effectively influences decision makers by presenting persuasive arguments.
Proactively measures the impact of talent and OD programs/initiatives to ensure desired outcomes are achieved; improves the value of these programs by incorporating and sharing lessons learned; adjusts as necessary based on feedback.
Keeps updated on changes and trends in multiple areas of focus including: talent development, organizational development, succession planning, workforce planning, assessments and mentoring; benchmarks programs with other external organization and bring innovations that will positively impact the organization and its culture. Attends professional seminars to increase knowledge of these specialty areas of Human Resources. Mentors other Program Managers within the group, to support their growth and development.
With limited direction from manager, sources, identifies, and selects external vendors to support talent and OD programs; identifies resources for development of relevant content and tools, as necessary; reviews and evaluates; Negotiates vendor contracts, pricing and manages vendor relationships.
Serves as the project manager for talent and OD initiatives, executing to deadlines both on an individual basis and with respective teams, while engaging appropriate stakeholders. Assumes leadership role over cross function teams that support the implementation of programs.
With minimal guidance, maintains and is accountable for the budgets associated with talent and OD programs.
This job requires on-site work at our Global Headquarters in Addison, TX.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
Experience: 5+ years
Education: Bachelor/University Degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Industrial Organizational, Psychology, Business, Education or equivalent. Graduate degree in Human Resources Development, Organization Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology or related field is strongly preferred.
A thorough knowledge and understanding of business and human resources principles and a working knowledge of the theories and principles of talent management, leadership development, workforce planning and organization development. Ability to accurately diagnose business needs and build program solutions that align to Global OD and organizational strategy.
Must be able to build capabilities in groups and/or specific individuals in core subject matter expertise such as talent development and planning strategies; familiar with adult learning theory to ensure program education and/or training meets desired learning objectives; serves as a subject matter expert and presenter; and facilitates group processes effectively.
Demonstrated strength in data analytics, distilling results into meaningful insights that influence key stakeholders to change behaviors. Track record of using relevant metrics to track program effectiveness.
Develops strong and trusting relationships with internal clients that are sustained over time; a role model of the culture and values, OD programs, practices and principles. Encourages and listens to feedback from internal customers and designs win-win solutions that balance theory with practical application.
Independent decision making skills, creative problem solver with the ability to design global programs that balance competing market interests with the need to control investment, resources and promote sustainability.
Leadership skills to organization and manage multiple, complex projects and commitments to internal clients. Failure to deliver could result in a significant impact to budget, timelines and impact to employees across the globe.
