Experience: 5+ years

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or equivalent. Requires competent knowledge and understanding of fundamental principles of the security and life safety systems field acquired through a 4 year college degree.

Additional Skills & Abilities: 

•Must be able to act independently with minimal guidance in leading the training, investigations and personal protection programs.

•Must possess or be able to obtain the following certifications/licenses: Commissioned Security Officer, Personal Protection Officer, Combined (firearm and classroom) Level III Instructor, Level IV Instructor and Licensed Manager through the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) or Private Security Board (PSB) within 1 year of start date.

•Must possess or be able to obtain at a minimum an Emergency Care Attendant certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services. Additional certifications for EMT, ECA, Certified Fraud Examiner and HAZMAT are highly desired.

•Must be able to obtain a Glock Armorer certification to work on, maintain and order parts for Glock weapons.

•Must have working knowledge of FM Global requirements as it pertains to building fire alarm and suppression systems, inspections, hot work, and red tag program.

•Must obtain a Basic Life Support for Providers instructor certification through the American Heart Association.

•Must be able to read, understand, and apply basic applications of technical instructions and materials.

•Must have strong communication and public speaking skills. Instructor experience coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills required in order to effectively communicate with internal as well as external customers, visitors, guests and the public.

•Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality/non-disclosure.

•Requires a valid Texas driver’s license to operate Company-owned vehicles and maintain a good driving record.

•Must be proficient in the operation of various alarm systems, portable radio equipment and security systems in order to analyze equipment needs.

•Must have auditory capability to hear alarms, monitors, intruders, safety infractions, etc., visual acuity to recognize hazardous materials signs and to describe witnessed persons or situations, and must have olfactory capability to smell dangerous gases, fire, etc. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

•Incumbent must be able to travel 15% of the time.
