Mary Kay interns participate in activities that introduce them to our people centered culture, our products, and the Independent Sales Force.
Mary Kay has a technologically advanced manufacturing facility in Lewisville, TX. We manufacture skincare and cosmetics in a high-volume environment with a focus on uncompromising quality, maximum operational efficiency, and responsiveness to changes in customer needs and consumer desires. Our highly accomplished team includes engineers, mechanics, operational leads, buyers, inspectors and other manufacturing disciplines.
The Processing Operations Intern Will Work on The Following:
- Design, Testing, and Implementation of Tank Farm Addition for TEAls:
- Lead the design, testing, and implementation planning for the addition of TEAls tank farm to 4T vessels.
- Focus on reducing weighing time, minimizing chemical exposure, and streamlining the addition process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the project enhances safety and accelerates cycle time.
- Safety and Process Optimization:
- Work closely with safety teams to ensure the new design meets safety standards and mitigates operational risks.
- Ensure the project’s goals of improving safety protocols and optimizing cycle time are met.
- Development of Standardized Hose Testing Procedure:
- Develop and implement a standardized procedure for testing hoses used in operations.
- Ensure the procedure complies with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration with EHS on Best Practices:
- Partner with the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to develop and establish best practices for handling flammables and combustibles in operations.
- Ensure that safety protocols align with industry standards and minimize risks in operational environments.
- Ongoing Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to processes and systems to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Support project tracking, ensuring milestones are met within timeline and budget constraints.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain clear communication with key stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and safety teams, to align on project scope, timelines, and expectations.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards throughout project development and implementation.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedures, designs, and testing results for future reference and audits.

The Value You Bring:
Strong intern candidates will have:
- Great communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- OSHA 30
- Familiarity with SDS and chemical handling
- Prior experience in a safety focus environment
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
· Must still be currently pursuing undergraduate or master’s degree
· To be eligible you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (undergraduate) or part time (graduate) as defined by your university at the time of application.
· Minimum junior status. Rising seniors preferred.
· Preferred Degrees: Chemical Engineering
Summer Program Details:
- The Mary Kay 2024 Summer Intern Program is a 10-week internship from June 4th- August 15th
· All our internships are paid, starting at $20/ hour
· Our internships are Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, and require you to be in the office 4-5 days per week
· Our internships are located at our Global Headquarters in Addison, TX or Manufacturing/ R&D Facility in Lewisville, TX
· Interns will receive any required equipment, such as a laptop
