JOB PURPOSE    

Provides vision, recommendation and planning of all campaigns and request made on behalf of project owners, departments and senior management. Provides support while driving accountability and delivering of work flow into, thru and from the North American Brand and Design teams and external partner agencies. Partners with U.S. Sales & Marketing, Creative Services and Senior Management to ensure initial vision and request are delivered within an agreed upon time frame and budget.

Creates a clear and concise overview of project owner/team’s vision and goal, while developing a roadmap/campaign plan detailing and prioritizing a comprehensive calendar that lists communication channels, deliverables and specific timing/release of said material/info.

Ensures speed-to-market success of both marketing and communications materials while meeting or exceeding quality and cost measures.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES     

1.    As a highly-visible leader of the team, sets the strategic vision and oversees team to ensure fulfillment of the all packaging, print, social media, web and video marketing initiatives created within the North American creative departments and partner agencies. Partners with regional (U.S. and Canada) leadership to ensure Mary Kay brand initiatives are delivered to support overarching strategic objectives of the company. Sees broad implications of work executed by team and defines quality objectives for delivering results that elevate the Mary Kay brand. Ensures internal team and/or external agency is in place to deliver upon expectations. Elevates significant project owner issues and recommended solutions to the Director, U.S. Marketing and Director, Marketing Communications.

2.    Develops a 360-degree communication strategy driving increased revenue for Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and Mary Kay Inc. Provides input and assists with conceptualization and development of marketing campaigns, email automated journey experiences, messaging journeys for email marketing. Leads the project discussion meetings with the Channel, Content and Analytics teams to review campaigns and establish goals. Serves as point of contact for campaign assets for departmental inquiries. Partners with creative services to resolve any overlapping projects or ambiguity in project scope., Provides work flow calendar, editorial plan, and tracking system.

3.    Evaluates and monitors processes and procedures that impact workflow and develops process-oriented solutions with the U.S. Creative Services team as well as business partners in various divisions within the North America Region to ensure alignment with speed to market initiatives and business expectations. Champions workflow initiatives that build on industry benchmarks and best practices to deliver more time and cost-effective solutions for all marketing and Sales support materials. Insures adoption of changes throughout organization by building trust through delivering results, providing assistance, information and support to others. Provides recommendations to Creative and Business Operations Communications to provide solutions for maximizing resources.

4.    Oversees annual budget process and ensures team alignment to budget throughout the year.  Ensures clear alignment of financial plan to strategic business plans of company. Responsible for ensuring team delivers projects on time and within budget as well as closes each fiscal year within budget.

5.    Makes adjustments to campaigns to maximize results based on goals and key performance indicators. Works with internal project owners to re-assess marketing campaigns that are not meeting goals and determines corrective actions. Makes recommendations and executes modifications to communication and marketing plans to meet program goals. Ultimately accountable for the successful completion of projects assigned to direct and indirect reports. Reviews final product to ensure project goals are met.

6.    Responsible for the oversight of North America’s Creative’s deliverable of web assets for all digital platforms. Maintains and manages critical decisions and solutions. Builds solutions and support, ensuring alignment within cross-functional teams. Leads development of high-profile, extremely complex projects such as advertising initiatives and major campaigns. Develops and maintains relationships with executives, from numerous departments, requesting creative projects ensuring said projects meet expectations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES    

Education 

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, advertising or business, plus

Experience

5+ years of experience in the marketing/advertising account management field. Familiarity with creative development process from creative strategy through print production.

1.      Must be able to generate clear direction to achieve desired outcome and gain buy-in from all partners. Uses strong communication and negotiation skills to achieve win-win solutions. Must be able to successfully interact and develop relationships with domestic and international creative staff and with external resources at all levels.

2.      Must be knowledgeable about processes involved in development of projects in global broadcast, packaging, advertising, print literature, web, and publications to successfully develop project strategies.

3.      Must be assertive, results-oriented, solution-focused and possess good business judgment to effectively lead team and project/process development.

4.      Must have strong leadership and people management skills in order to motivate, inspire, lead and manage department and relationships with outside agency partners and vendors.
