Analyst Treasury II
Job Summary
Under general direction, responsible for moderate to complex treasury activities. Works with internal and external partners to safeguard assets, minimize costs and implement best practices in the areas of cash management, forecasting and planning. Recommends short term investment of excess cash to maximize interest earnings and performs foreign exchange transactions. Helps to implement treasury process automation to create efficiencies, increase payment accuracy and ensure adequate controls.
About the Role
Responsibilities:
- Cash Management:
- Analyzes daily cash positions in the Treasury Management System (TMS) and determines operating cash requirements based on projections.
- Makes recommendations for cash movements between accounts to meet operational needs and to maximize interest earned from short term investments.
- Collaborates with internal business partners and external banking partners to ensure wire, ACH, virtual card, pay card and check payments are executed timely, accurately and within company policy.
- Possesses a basic understanding of when business decisions or business strategies have implications on cash processes or cash flow.
- Works with banking and payment vendors to research issues and develop solutions. Presents findings to management.
- Cash Forecasting:
- Develops and maintains short term cash flow forecast for management review. Utilizes Treasury Management System to analyze historical information.
- Trends actual performance to past forecasts to improve forecast accuracy.
- Analyzes historical data and gathers information on business plans with cash flow impact. Creates forecast based on appropriate assumptions.
- Consolidates subsidiary cash forecasts to project payments to Corporate.
- Assists in the annual long term cash forecast to project shareholder dividends and models scenarios for management review.
- Payment Processor and Bank Fee Analysis:
- Reviews and analyzes card scheme, payment processor and bank fees to ensure billing is accurate and reflects contractual pricing. Escalates discrepancies to management.
- Month End Reporting:
- Analyzes cash, bank fee, credit card fee and debt accounts for accuracy and records journal entries related to treasury activities. Exercises judgment to apply accounting and reporting rules and record financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Reviews and analyzes month end reports to validate transaction accuracy and reasonableness. Works with internal partners to review and correct variances between general ledger and bank account statements
- KPI Tracking:
- Tracks Treasury KPI metrics, interest rates and earnings on investment accounts, payment and cash efficiency and other Treasury analytics. Presents results to management in a format that is easy to understand.
- Foreign Currency Trades:
- Buys and sells foreign currency as needed, ensuring trade settlements and documentation comply with company policy.
- This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
Skills & Experience
Experience: 3+ years of Treasury experience
Education: Bachelor/University Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CTP Preferred.
Additional Skills & Abilities:
- Tools/Technology:
- Experience with Kyriba TMS, bank portal software (JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, BBVA, Citibank, MUFG, HSBC) PeopleSoft and JD Edwards general ledger modules.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. This includes utilizing pivot tables, V-lookups, chart creation and similar advanced Excel functionality for reporting and process improvement.
- Utilizes existing digital tools and technologies to perform tasks at a high level of productivity.
- Internal Controls: Ability to understand how internal controls align with processes and to adhere to the Company’s financial policies and procedures.
- Analysis: With guidance, analyzes moderate to complex information. Demonstrate ability to develop solutions to problems.
