KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES     

 

Education: Requires Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer systems engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.Master’s degree is preferred.

 

Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in controls & automation in the cosmetics, pharmaceutica,food & beverage, or related industry.

 

1. Designing and developing new control systems

2. Testing, maintaining, and modifying existing control systems

3. Understand PID control loops, servo controls, and variable frequency drives.

4. Demonstrate thought leadership and influence beyond regular functions. 

5. Utilizes in-depth knowledge and advanced problem-solving skills and an awareness of Mary Kay priorities to achieve stated results.

6. Must have excellent leadership skills to provide advice and overall technical direction for projects Demonstrated ability to function effectively in stressful, fast-paced situations, with the personal leadership to influence and positively motivate self. Upholds lives and delivers core values of the company.

7. Must have relevant experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley control systems.

8. Experience with SCADA or MES applications (Wonderware, Cimplicity, Simatic IT, etc.).

9. Experience with basic manufacturing network architecture methodologies.

10. General understanding of network communication protocols, e.g. TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, and associated firmware and hardware.

11. Experience with mid-scale robotics, e.g. ABB, Adept, Fanuc, Staubli.

12. Knowledge of machine design, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, motor controls and aseptic process machine production.

13. Demonstrated strong project management and interpersonal skills and the ability to direct/motivate Multi-functional project teams.


14. Demonstrated scale-up and commercialization experience

15. Skills necessary for Hardware and Software integration will be refined on automated equipment used in manufacturing environments.

16. Excellent written and oral communication skills required

17. Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally overnight approximately 20-30% of the time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

1. This job requires exposure to dust, dirt, noise, loud machinery, and vibrations.              

2. Duties may involve the handling/management of substances designated as hazardous waste by the Environmental Protection Agency.  Incumbents assigned such duties must complete an initial training program in hazardous waste management procedures and required annual follow-up training.

3. Incumbent is subject to other hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, high heat, and high places.

4. Some international travel required.
