Job Summary:

  • Provides support and motivation through constant in- and outbound contact with independent sales force members who enter the Director-In-Qualification (DIQ) process. Utilizes reports, models and a library of success strategies and tips to advise and encourage the DIQ. Monitors DIQ sales and recruiting reports to proactively communicate with the DIQ regarding debut status and to monitor for possible questionable activity. Serves as a resource to the independent sales force and to Mary Kay employees for information about the DIQ process and to resolve complex situations regarding Director-in-Qualification procedures.
  • Acts as backup coordinator for Sales Development in assigning cases. Also, back-up for expense reports for the Sr. Director of Sales Force Development & NSD Services.

About The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains contact with Independent Sales Force providing support and assistance concerning rules and procedures of the DIQ program Contact may be by phone, email and/or in-person. Assists in resolution of questions or issues that arise. Proactively offers advice applying key learnings shared by other Sales Force and successfully debuting Independent Sales Directors. Utilizes reports and models to aid the Sales Force with information that will enhance the qualification experience. Documents all communications as needed each communication. Acts as a problem-solver for independent sales force members about various issues or concerns.
  • Tracks sales totals and number of recruits to monitor whether monthly requirements have been met. Prepares various statistical reports and other reports and listings for management's review. May make exceptions (within pre-determined guideline) after researching situation, records in file and notifies other departments that are affected by the exception, i.e. Sales Development, Director Information Services, etc. Maintains records of class counts, percentages and other information requested by Manager, Qualifications and other individuals within the Company.
  • Assists with monitoring monthly production and recruits for DIQs, determining whether each is qualified for Directorship at the end of each month; identifying DIQs who have dropped or failed to meet DIQ production requirements. Notifies DIQ of qualification by phone call or email. Assigns unit #’s and debuts New Directors. In the event of non-qualification, compiles data to support decision for supervisory and board review. Notifies DIQ and DIQ’s independent sales director of non-qualification and offers encouragement to resubmit commitment form.
  • Assists in department’s efforts to compile, maintain and expand a library of DIQ success strategies. Seeks, documents and shares successful DIQ strategies and tips from DIQs directly supported by incumbent and those learned from meetings with members of the independent sales force at independent sales force events such as Area meetings, Leadership Conference, Career Conference and Seminar. Shares learnings with department and assists in maintaining library of strategies. Reviews debut reports to identify DIQs with questionable sales or recruiting figures. Flags Sales Force to notify department management of a potential issue. Contacts Branches, Sales Development and/or other internal departments to verify figures. If necessary, contacts recruits of DIQs to discreetly verify order placement and ensure appropriate payment procedures were followed in order to validate DIQ sales or recruiting figures. If additional investigation is necessary, may escalate to another team member or manager. In the event of DIQ disqualification, compiles data to support decision for supervisory and board review.
  • May attend and participate in Sales Force and Company Events and provide motivational learning sessions focused on successful team building and business skills for Future Independent Sales Directors, assisting them in making the transition from an independent and/or small team focus to managing a larger team. Prepares material for events and may staff multiple areas at events as needed.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 3+ years experience in customer service or direct selling

Additional Skills & Abilities:

  • Spanish bilingual communication skills (written and verbal) are required for this position.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to coach and assist DIQs, explain qualification policies and procedures and to resolve complex and sensitive issues directly with DIQs in a manner that reflects the Mary Kay culture and spirit and to represent the Company at independent sales force events. Excellent interpersonal skills are also necessary to work well within department, to communicate updated information acquired from other departments and to coordinate with Sales Development, Branches and other internal departments.
  • A high level of judgment and discretion is required in order to make DIQ program disqualification recommendations.
  • Must have basic mathematical aptitude to determine individual sales and recruits applied toward Directorship and to analyze and prepare statistical reports.
  • Must have a working knowledge of and be able to utilize word processing and spreadsheet software to compose correspondence, prepare newsletters, update procedure manual and to prepare statistical reports.
  • Maintains constant awareness of what advancement in the career path or other company recognition could be achieved by unethical means and strive to uphold the highest ethical standards possible for the Company.
