Job Summary

The Communications Specialist supports the U.S. Channels team by writing copy as directed by Manager, posting MK News articles, researching and verifying content and other tasks as needed.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • At direction of Channels Manager and Copywriters, writes copy for U.S. Channels that include:
    • Directors Memo/National News Notes/IBC Email.
    • WYNK (What You Need to Know) emails. Works with Creative team to find the correct image to include (in both English and Spanish) to correspond with each story. Works with the InTouch team to get links for each story to link more information.
    • Applause: Assists Copywriter in creation of the monthly calendar, Trending and other pages as assigned.
    • InTouch, FAQs and eCards: Assigned as needed.
  • Posts MK News articles in English and Spanish using Service Cloud tools.
  • With guidance from Channels Manager and Copywriters, proofreads and copy edits as needed to ensure accuracy, consistency and clarity.
  • At direction of Copywriters, identifies, acquires approvals of, and interviews Mary Kay Independent Sales Directors for quotes and testimonials to be included in publications.
  • Assist with the process management of Channels team projects as needed.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the U.S. Marketing Communications team and the Company by supporting special projects with writing and editing as needed.
  • This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.

Skills & Experience

Experience: 1+ years

Education: Bachelor/University Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, etc.

Additional Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with sales force members and employees at all levels.
  • Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and conceptual abilities in order to manage, schedule, prioritize projects.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment in order to meet established timelines.
  • Ability to work independently upon receiving direction.
  • Knowledge of A.P. style preferred.
  • Experience using Workfront, InCopy, and Grammarly preferred.
