About The Role
- Lead the global monthly and quarterly close, including review of consolidated financial and statistical data from subsidiaries.
- Oversee FX translation, consolidation, and intercompany eliminations in HFM and prepare elimination entries as needed.
- Review results for irregularities, identify material errors, and assess financial reporting impacts.
- Communicate close instructions and provide support on variances or reporting issues.
- Prepare, review, and distribute monthly and quarterly management reporting packages.
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures for Mary Kay Inc. and Mary Kay Holding Corporation.
- Serve as primary contact with external auditors for interim reviews and the annual audit; ensure schedules and information requests are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare consolidated entries for deferred sales in accordance with ASC 606.
- Maintain approved distribution lists to ensure confidentiality of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company reporting policies.
- Interpret complex accounting issues, support accounting positions, and provide guidance to subsidiaries.
- Review new and proposed accounting standards, evaluate impacts, and advise management.
- Develop, update, and communicate company financial policies and procedures; provide global training as needed.
- Review existing procedures for effectiveness in relation to changing reporting requirements and business processes.
- Manage systems used for financial consolidations and reporting; maintain working knowledge of the consolidation system.
- Oversee the global chart of accounts, entity structure, and approval of new departments, divisions, and chartfields.
- Participate in system updates and testing; ensure issues are resolved and changes are properly implemented.
- Partner with IT and FP&A on daily sales reporting via Tableau and maintain access lists.
- Coordinate Independent Sales Force Program accounting, monthly journal entries, and annual actuarial valuations.
- Oversee completion of government census and economic surveys.
- Support annual appraisal and bank examinations; prepare required reports and data.
- Provide secure, confidential ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Review Global Market Bonus Program Free Cash Flow and Corporate Division bonus model reports, including FX adjustments and incentive compensation calculations.
- Guide subsidiaries in recording incentive compensation expenses and consolidate final results for management.
- Maintain and modify bonus model calculations based on program changes.
What You'll Need to Be Successful
- Experience: Experience: 7+ years of accounting experience
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting standards; ability to interpret pronouncements and develop internal policies.
- Solid understanding of financial systems, data integrity, and internal controls.
- Excellent communication skills for preparing disclosures, partnering with executives, and working with global teams.
- Cultural awareness and ability to collaborate effectively across international subsidiaries.
- Internal Controls: Develops and reviews policies with an internal‑control mindset, identifying control weaknesses and recommending improvements.
- Data Storytelling: Structures clear presentations and uses data to create actionable insights, maintaining strong business acumen and stakeholder trust.
- Technology: Proficient with digital tools and finance systems (HFM, ERP, RPA), with strong understanding of system integrations, risks, and ROI of technology solutions.
