Experience |
10+ years of experience in product marketing and/or managing
and implementing marketing programs, including a minimum of 5 years’ people
management experience leading professional level staff. Prior brand
management experience with a consumer package goods company or direct selling
industry is highly desired. |
1.
Must be strategic and have experience developing
brand, product and consumer marketing strategies. Must have a strong understanding of marketing
concepts, terminology and stay abreast of all product marketing trends. Must be able to apply basic marketing
concepts (e.g., brand positioning, brand equity/engagement, SWOT analysis,
competitive assessment, marketing strategies, consumer segmentation) used in
the development of marketing plans.

Strong business and analytical skills are
required to analyze and interpret results of research, marking promotions,
educational programs and brand targets. Must be able to understand financial
data to make insightful observations and learnings. Must be able to tie
marketing objectives to overall performance metrics and/or ROI. Ability to
define opportunities and problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts
and make valid conclusions is required.

Job requires the ability to work strategically
to independently develop and implement ideas and solutions.

Experience and knowledge of how to merchandise
products to drive revenue, including experience driving pricing strategies,
product positioning, consumer promotions and executing tactics according to
plan are required.

Must be able to work in teams and ability to
lead large teams from multiple disciplines to orchestrate product launch, phase
out and promotional support. Must demonstrate strong collaboration,
flexibility, and diplomacy skills.
6.
Incumbent must demonstrate a strong
entrepreneurial aptitude and be solution-focused. A strong sense ability to
manage numerous projects at one time are required.
7.
Proactive/self-starter, strong organizational
and analytical skills, effective at multi-tasking, have a sense of urgency and
able to react quickly to opportunities, projects and tasks, creative and able
to generate strategic and executable marketing and promotional ideas.
8.
Must have excellent interpersonal, written and
oral communication skills to effectively communicate with top management, sales
force and internal departments. Must be
able to present in front of large audiences and senior executives.
9.
Position requires strong business writing
skills, plus proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Computer skills, such
as database searches are also important.
10. Must
have strong interest in cosmetics and the beauty category.
11. Must
be a Brand Ambassador for the Mary Kay Brand and ensure all tactics adhere to
Branding guidelines.
12. Domestic
overnight travel is required up to 20% to attend special events, to visit and
interview sales force members, and attend marketing conferences for supplemental
training.
