KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education: Bachelors degree in Marketing or equivalent applicable experience with emphasis on general business and marketing principles.

Experience: 7+ years of related experience in order to understand and apply such principles to the development and marketing of the company’s products and programs in international markets.  Three years in an international related field is highly preferred. An MBA, IMBA, MIBS, or MIM also preferred. 

  1. High analytical ability, natural curiosity and attention to detail required to conduct/review analysis on promotional results, margin analysis, sales metrics and market research findings, and to ensure they are in accordance with regional objectives and strategies.
  2. Broad/holistic business thinking and problem solving (solution-orientation) skills required to address the challenges of the individual markets and determine appropriate course of action.
  3. Must be willing and able to work with a high degree of complexity and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Strong influence, relationship-building and communication skills are required to establish credibility, to form true business partnerships with marketing teams within the region, to exchange information with internal departments, and to communicate successfully with senior management on a global scale. Must possess the ability to resolve conflicting points of view, reinforce the Company’s position firmly yet tactfully, and lead a team in implementing action plans.
  5. Requires cultural awareness and sensitivity – willingness to learn about other markets and cultures, how market dynamics (developing markets, purchasing trends, economic trends, etc.) and local nuances affect a promotional plan.
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively guide subsidiary staff required. Must possess a strong desire to grow the skills, knowledge and overall capability of others with humility and credibility, even despite the challenges of time-differences, language and cultural differences.
  7. Highly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are required to analyze and cascade product, pricing, promotions and other product marketing management information.
  8. Some international travel required approximately 10% of the time to support the needs of the European region.
