Education
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in event and meeting planning and/or certified meeting planner designation
Experience
3+ years of experience in meeting planning and coordination for corporate or association
• Attention to detail and the ability to successfully multi-task are critical to this role. Must be extremely detailed and organized to coordinate and manage multiple projects.
• Knowledge of the direct sales industry, including an understanding of sales and what motivates an Independent Sales Force member and how they function is highly preferred.
• Must have analytical skills to review and process contracts, calculate functional space requirements; manage budget and variances, etc.
• Problem solving skills and the ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact when interfacing with internal and external clients is critical to this role.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to interface and effectively communicate with others within the department, cross functional teams, vendors, contractors, independent sales force, etc.
• Requires the ability to effectively communicate, explain and discuss with DMC’s, hotels and outside vendors for the successful execution of onsite requirements.
• Very strong PC skills with mastery of Word and Excel as well as working knowledge of current industry event/incentive management software.
• Must interact professionally with all levels of corporate staff as well as highest levels of global ISF.
• Strong PC skills are required, including proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Requires international and domestic travel approximately 30% of the time.
• Must be able to lift, stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.
