KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with concentration
in Event and Meeting Planning and/or Certified Meeting Planner designation,
plus |
Experience |
3-5 years of experience in meeting
planning and coordination for a corporation or association. |
1.
Must have excellent organizational and
planning skills with a strong
attention to detail.
2.
Must
have analytical skills to review and process contracts, calculate functional
space requirements, manage budget and variances, etc.
3.
Problem
solving skills and the ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact when
interfacing with internal and external clients is critical to this role.
4.
Must
possess cooperative interpersonal skills to work well with and for others
within the department and Company and to work with vendors, contractors,
etc. Requires the ability to lead
Volunteer Mary Kay staff at events.
5.
Requires
the ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, influence, explain and
discuss with convention centers, convention bureaus, hotels and outside vendors
for the successful execution of onsite requirements.
6.
Requires
the ability to manage competing priorities and the ability to successfully
multi-task.
7.
Must
have good judgment and decision making skills.
8.
PC
skills are required, including proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
9.
Requires
domestic travel approximately 30% of the time.
10. Must be able to lift, stand,
sit and/or walk for extended periods of time.
