Job Summary

Contributes to US social media communication strategy, objectives, and plans and leads the execution and tactics. Defines the sales force social channels to drive Independent Sales Force engagement – fitting the strategy, tone, voice and the stories that are uniquely Mary Kay. Works with internal teams to align efforts and messaging; establish priorities and objectives for campaigns based on Company objectives.Partners with Communications, Marketing, Creative, Sales, IST, and external agencies to ensure Mary Kay social activities and social platforms are technically and content-optimized to increase engagement, build brand awareness and create advocacy. Provides organization with timely and consistent best practices and insights to support in the ever-evolving social media landscape. Leverages social media channel mix and resources/tools and content; assesses technical capabilities, provides recommendations and ensures local deployment. Delivers social analytics to evaluate social channels.Ensures Independent Sales Force members receive engaging and timely content to promote their Mary Kay business on social channels. Manages effective social platforms and education.

 

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Project manages all aspects of Mary Kay US social plans including content strategy, concept, execution, technology and vendor assessments, tool and system selection, development, and deployment.
    • In partnership with Communications, establish content strategy with other sales force facing communication vehicles.
    • Manages content for the sales force channels including Facebook and Instagram.
    • Influences departments and roles on the optimal use of social media channels, services and tools across the organization.
    • Partners with Communication, Marketing, Sales, Creative, and various department stakeholders to ensure the US social media communication strategy is successful.
  • Contributes to the sales force communication strategy by thought leadership and strategic thinking on the role social platforms play in engaging, educating, marketing to, and communicating with the independent sales force.
    • Optimizes the sales force closed FaceBook page as a critical information resource for the independent sales force.
    • Provides Independent Sales Force Members with posts to use in their social channels.
    • Manages social media channels for the Independent Sales Force members.
    • Creates education content and events for the Independent Sales Force Members.
  • Uses analytics and data-driven insights to ensure objectives are met and identify new opportunities and recommendations to optimize and grow social media presence and capabilities.
    • Delivers meaningful performance metrics and reports to measure social program effectiveness.
    • Monitors competitors.
  • Provides social media expertise to the organization.
    • Briefs Manager, senior management, and stakeholders on the performance of the US social channels.
    • Actively follows industry experts in social media; and continually stays abreast of best practices in social platforms. Explores new technology trends, solutions and innovation recommending new opportunities.
    • Demonstrates social and digital expertise to internal stakeholders and senior management serving as the subject matter expert and champion for content best practices, social resources and tools, and industry trends.
  • This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.

 

Skills & Experience

Experience: 5+ years of cumulative work experience in a social media, communications, marketing/ /digital marketing role. Agency, cosmetics and direct selling industry experience highly preferred

Education: Bachelor/University Degree or equivalent, in Business, Communications/Journalism, Marketing, Online and/or Social Media Marketing or related field

Additional Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have integrated marketing experience with demonstrated in depth knowledge and experience with social media planning, channels, and engagement.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of existing and emerging social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.), their respective participants, and how each platform can be deployed and cross-leveraged in different scenarios.
  • Translates complex data into smartly contextualized conclusions and reports. Ability to advise stakeholders on making data-driven decisions.
  • Critical to this position’s success is the ability to manage multiple routine projects with attention to detail. Expected to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Must be self-sufficient, able to prioritize and organize.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, diplomacy and communication skills to effectively communicate, collaborate, and provide direction to internal staff, executives and IBCs. Must have good presentation skills and be comfortable presenting in front of large audiences.
  • Must be able to collaborate with external Agencies, vendors, internal Creative partners and cross functional teams.
  • Must be able to help develop brand experiences from a consumer and Independent Sales Force point of view. This requires an understanding of the Mary Kay Product line and Independent Beauty Consultants to be acquired.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing is required.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish is preferred.
