JOB PURPOSE
Under general supervision and utilizing Mary Kay Inc.’s Business Systems, provides analytical support to one or more areas of the Inventory Control department which researches, analyzes, and monitors components, raw materials, finished goods, obsolescence, and excess inventory for all domestic and international locations ensuring that inventory is tracked and accounted for as it completes production and enters the distribution channels. This job may provide inventory-related support to an international region(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Researches and analyzes inventory breakdown of all low inventory, close-out, pink sale and regular line items for distribution to one or more locations; analyzes inventory requirements to project quantities needed to meet a predetermined assembly goal; examines and accounts for all requirements (domestic and/or international) prior to breakdown of inventory. Makes moderately complex recommendations regarding delaying outbound shipments in order to add-on critical items received, and ships items directly from vendors and directs the redistribution of items as necessary to avoid backorders, and obtains approval to implement these recommendations. Analyzes distribution spreadsheet daily for inventory imbalance between the various locations; and reviews overall distribution percentages against target inventory requirements for domestic and subsidiary locations.
2. Develops and utilizes various reporting tools that accurately track key indices regarding sales, recruiting, backorders, cost of sales, inventory investment, and inventory projection; obtains necessary information from subsidiaries and domestic departments as required; reviews existing documentation and procedures for improvement and efficiency; and prepares and participates in special projects and tasks assigned.
3. Provides inventory-related support to an international region(s) including inventory level maintenance, forecast loads, lead time maintenance, shipment generation, in-transits, and transportation modes. Responsible for inventory allocation and shipment resolution for assigned markets, as well as monitoring low inventory items through the use of weekly critical reports. Develops and maintains a communication channel with assigned international region responding to subsidiaries request within 24 hour; and serves as the primary contact to subsidiaries for all forecasting and inventory-related questions.
4. Monitors the timeline of upcoming projects in Agile to track the forecast provided by markets to ensure forecast placement is accurate to drive correct demand signals for Manufacturing, Supply Scheduling and Contract Manufacturing. Responsible for compiling and communicating global forecast numbers for soft commits, firm commits and final orders from regions and preparing a working spreadsheet for each quarterly promotion. Attends project meetings and provides valuable input at the team level. Elevates to supervisor as needed.
5. Prepares and analyzes monthly phase out reports for upcoming quarters, as well as effectively leads the monthly phase out meeting with supervision. Researches and reports on projected obsolescence for associated projects. Works with various manufacturing departments in an effort to reduce or eliminate open purchase orders on finished goods or components. Provides ad hoc analysis and recommendations for various departments on projected phase out timing, as needed. Provides Senior Analyst, Supervisor and Director with project data for all relevant phase out meetings. Maintains the Global Phase Out Hub and communicates regularly with regional marketing and local inventory control personnel to identify and influence changes that need to be made to forecast or timing.
6. Provides general direction and resolves issues with contract manufacturers and planners to coordinate production/delivery and shipments for raw materials, bulk and components from manufacturing and ASRS to 3rd party suppliers for domestic and international production. Manages shipments of raw materials, bulk and components to Mary Kay markets for local production. Processes purchase orders in a timely manner in order to avoid backorder situations. Creates non-billable invoices and shipping documents for zero dollar purchase orders.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education Bachelor’s degree required. Supply Chain preferred.
Experience 1-3 years of inventory control experience with a good knowledge of warehouse and distribution.
1. Must have analytical and mathematical skills to be able to analyze deviations from production schedules and discrepancies in inventory.
2. Must possess effective oral and written communication skills in order to interface with other functional areas in the company.
3. Must be PC literate and proficient in Excel functionality in order to prepare various reports.
4. Must have organization and time management skills to work effectively with internal and external contacts.
5. Must be able to think innovatively to help solve routine inventory related problems and make suggestions for improvement.
6. Must have a general working knowledge in Mary Kay Inc. Business Systems (WMS/JDE/GPSPro/Agile).
7. Must have a basic understanding of supply chain processes for domestic and international markets.
