With direction from Manager, leads development and execution of the new IBC Experience for the U.S. market. This entails ensuring the materials provided to a new IBC are what is needed to successfully start a Mary Kay business. Keeping the opportunity, tools and materials fresh, relevant and fashionable while managing costs. Executes the strategy to teach independent sales force members how to sell products to their customers through skin care parties which involves extensive sales force knowledge and the ability to turn feedback into action. Partners with other internal teams to synchronize plans and launch strategies.


·         Supervises direct reports by providing project guidance and coaching/mentoring as required. Develops performance evaluation and conducts reviews. Identifies development needs and ensures appropriate training and development.

·         Starter Kit - Responsible for the strategy, execution and maintenance of the entire Starter Kit. Directs the individual contributors regarding the contents, updates to the materials and ensuring adequate inventory. Works closely with Creative Services, U.S. Product Marketing, GIC, Total Rewards and various other departments to ensure success in all aspects of the Starter Kit. Establishes a strong rapport with the independent sales force to generate new ideas and gain continued feedback regarding the effectiveness of current tools and potential informational/educational needs. Interacts frequently with the independent sales force members by answering questions, performing market research or working special events

·         Selling Situation Strategy - Responsible for leading the team that works with the ISF and internal partners to strategize relevant selling opportunities, including but not limited to skin care parties, facials, open houses, holiday parties, etc. Works to ensure the education, promotional materials and tools needed to support the IBC’s opportunities to sell product are available. This includes online education, event education, tools and materials. Requires cross functional interaction and planning with a variety of departments and individuals within the company including Sales Force Development, Sales Force Communications, Legal, U.S. and Global Marketing, Marketing Research, Finance, and Creative Services.

·         Section 2 Management - Proactively manages specific Section 2 tools to analyze use, needs, and manage excess inventory to reduce the cost of obsolescence. Works with internal partners, such as Global Inventory Control, all Branches, and Customer Operations.

·         Attends Company and sales force events to cultivate relationships with sales force members, understand how the sales force works their business and sells product in the skin care class setting, as well as other channels.

·         Markets and creates awareness of Starter Kit tools. Participates in the writing of educational and promotional articles. Works closely with Sales Force Communications to ensure information is successfully communicated to the independent sales force via email, InTouch, Company publications, etc.

·         Conducts research to better understand the needs of new Independent Beauty Consultants. This research includes strategically-located discussion groups, creating and utilizing surveys, compiling independent sales force ideas, and turning the feedback into action. Collaborates with Market Research as needed to plan or execute complex research initiatives.

·         This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility. 



Education – Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in Marketing or related field

Experience – 5+ years in project management or related experience

·         Strong successful project management experience with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects and tasks with aggressive deadlines is required. Must possess a sense of urgency, be proactive and display confidence as project leader.

·         Critical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills required. Must have a proactive working style with a strong sense of ownership and urgency. Must display a positive, friendly attitude with a genuine interest in contributing within a team-driven environment.

·         Ability to think strategically, plan long term and become the “Voice of the Independent Beauty Consultant” to influence planning is required.

·         Must have experience developing and executing promotions and supporting materials. Understanding of print and broadcast media, creative and print production and online marketing.

·         Analytical skills are required to assist in analyzing and interpreting results of research, marketing promotions, educational programs and brand targets. Ability to define opportunities and problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts and make valid conclusions.

·         Must be able to work in teams and have the ability to lead teams from multiple disciplines to execute projects.

·         Ability to leverage market research results into actionable recommendations and plans.

·         Must have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.

·         Proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point required.

·         Out-of-town travel within the U.S. and Canada is required approximately 20% of work time to attend special events and seminars, to visit and interview sales force members, and to support educational and training activities.

·         Must be a Brand Ambassador for the Mary Kay Brand and ensure all tactics adhere to Branding guidelines.

·         Must have interest cosmetics and beauty category.
