Waste Water Technician
Skills & Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: 3+ years
Additional Skills & Abilities:
• Must have technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude to properly use hand and power tools; understand and use basic maintenance manuals; possess basic knowledge of electric wiring and machine shop practices; ability to perform repair and maintenance task on motors and mechanical drives, pumps, and ability to assemble and disassemble pumps.
• Must be able to read and understand a variety of job related instructions and documents.
• Must be able to perform practical application of mathematical calculations to solve specific problems and using many types of equipment.
• Must maintain a Class D Waste Water License.
• Must be able to pass the TCEQ Wastewater Class D Certification Test.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach, and move equipment and machinery weighing up to 60 lbs. in order to repair, monitor, and maintain processing equipment.
• Must have the manual dexterity to manipulate and assemble small objects and pieces of machinery and maintain and repair equipment. Have the ability to utilize courtesy and tact in interactions with department and Company personnel in the exchange of information and resolution of problems
• Ability to conduct routine housekeeping, adhere to SOP/WI compliance, and monitor environmental compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Must have general knowledge of LEAN principles to include Autonomous Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Shift or schedule change may be necessary due to changing business needs.
